Henrietta Sullivan
Mkwanazi
Rev. Henrietta Sullivan Mkwanazi is a native of Houston, Texas. She is a second generation preacher. Inspired at most by the preaching of her father the late Rev. H.Y. Tennessee, Rev. Mkwanazi molded herself after her father who was a well-known and respected Baptist preacher/pastor and moderator in the State of Texas and Louisiana. Her ministry and preaching has taken her to more than three continents. Her special anointing in the area of “deliverance” has afforded her the opportunity to preach in South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and England. She travels extensively within the United States and worldwide to preach and teach in women’s conferences.
Prior to her preaching career, she worked as a freelance professional model for Joskes, Sakowitz and Dillard's department stores. She also worked as an administrator for Harris County Children’s Protective Services for 15 yearsrs.

Rev. Mkwanazi attended public schools in Houston, Texas and is a graduate of Texas Southern University. In 2001, she was featured in the book entitled “God Just Showed Up”, by Linda Watkins a Moody Press release. She is the former Facilitator and Planner for the Tenth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She is a sought after corporate/business event planner and organizer.
In 2005-2006 she appeared in the Who’s Who Professional Achievers. She is the founder of DYTTH (Dare You To Try Him) Ministries. She also founded and is CEO of Dove Ministries, a comprehensive ministry with a focus on ministering to the needs of the total women. She served as the Chair/Director of The Political Action Committee of Gulf Coast Ministerial Alliance of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She is a past board member of the Evangelistic Board of the Gospel Music Workshop of America. She is a member of the Austin Chapter of Links, Incorporated.
Rev. Mkwanazi has an extensive ministerial resume that includes Senior Pastor – Cathedral of Faith AME Church, Houston, Texas; Assistant Pastor-Evangelist Chapel AME Church, Houston, Texas; Co-Pastor Bethel AME Church, Dallas, Texas.
As Co-Pastor of Metropolitan AME Church, “The Fountain of Praise” she has been instrumental in initiating WOW (Women Only Worship Services); Young Ladies In the Making; Young Ladies In The Making Scholarship; Women 2 Women Ministries; Women’s Day Celebrations and Orientation 101 classes. She also serves as Pastor of Worship.
She is the wife of Rev. N. Jordan Mkwanazi. Their blended family includes two handsome sons, four beautiful daughters, three wonderful sons in law, and six amazing grandsons and one beautiful granddaughter.
